About the Control Panel
What is the Control Panel?
The Control Panel is the interface between you and your website. It allows you to make changes to the information on your website, as well as accessing vital information such as traffic statistics and availability reports. Any changes you make via the Control Panel will be immediately reflected on your live website - you will always be 100% up to date. The Control Panel currently allows you to:
- Update Availability Calendar - For every letting unit on your website, you will have an Availability Calendar. This Calendar will appear on your website and allows visitors to your site to see when your gite is booked and when it is available for letting. Via the Control Panel you can mark individual days as arrival days, booked days, departure days, available or closed. Each type of day is indicated with a colour, which allows you to see the availability at a glance. Any changes you make will be immediately reflected on your website. That way your website is always 100% up to date. You can also produce downloadable summaries of bookings over periods of your choice.
- Update Seasons and Prices - For each gite, you can define between what dates your seasons will run and the cost per week in the currency of your choice.
- Update Contact Details - These are the Contact Details that appear on your website. You can edit, add and remove addresses, telephone/fax numbers, email addresses etc and preview how they will look on your website.
- Update News Items - If you have a News Ticker Bar, then you can edit add and remove the news items here.
- Update Account Details - These are the details we use to contact you. You can edit, add and remove addresses, telephone/fax numbers, email addresses etc. Here you can also change the password to your account.
- Traffic Overview - You can view visitor statistics to your website. How many visitors do you get a day? Where are they being transferred from? What country are they located in? All this is available and is an invaluable tool when designing marketing strategies.
- F.A.Q.'s - You will have access to a list of Questions and Answers related to the running of the Control Panel. These should help solve any problems you have running your website on a day to day basis. If you have any other problems, or the F.A.Q.'s do not answer all your questions, our Technical Support team will always be there.
How does it work?
When you buy a GiteSites website, you will be given a secure login to the Control Panel. With this login you can perform all the actions listed above. The first thing you should do however is change the password we provide you. That way you, and only you, have access to the data on your website. If you should ever forget or lose your password, we can reset your login and send you a new one. And don't worry, none of your data will ever be lost!
Can I Have a Demo?
Of course! Click Here to Launch the Control Panel and logon using the username 'demo' and password 'demo' all lower case. Here you will be able to get a feel for what the Control Panel can do for you. The data is reset frequently and is not linked to any real website, so feel free to update anything you want.
